Reds fan flies Liverpool flag at the North Pole

After three years of planning and preparations, the 45-year-old Iranian reached the northernmost point on the Earth in August.

And Naseri ensured the Reds were well represented at one of the most remote and inaccessible places in the world.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: "I have been a supporter of Liverpool FC from the time I was a child. I always watch the matches.

"Since it has been a long time that I was planning to take a trip to the North Pole, I wanted to raise the flag of Liverpool FC, which is my favourite football club.

"I took a Persepolis FC flag to the North Pole as well. [They are] an Iranian football club, which has been a champion in the league during the last three years."

Despite temperatures varying between -17 to -30 degrees Celsius most days, Naseri still possessed a warm desire to follow Jürgen Klopp's side during his trip.

"I always check the Liverpool FC website regularly," he added. "And during my expeditions, when I had access to the internet I checked the website."
